You’ve saved, planned, and are looking forward to relaxing in the sun. There are many benefits from planning ahead, but what if things do not go according to plan shortly before your vacation begins? What if you or a loved one gets sick before you leave for your trip? What if you arrive and your bags don’t? What if a hurricane prevents you from starting your vacation or forces you to leave early?

We want your stay to be worry free. Trip insurance protects your trip investment in the event of a sudden emergency before you start your trip. Once you are here and you have to interrupt your trip it protects the full payment you made. The benefits listed below are included in your plan. The coverage goes into effect when the premium is paid. You will receive a Certificate of Insurance which will describe all the details applicable to the insurance coverage.

DESCRIPTION OF COVERAGES

Protection Before, During and After Your Trip
A cancellation, interruption or trip delay can cost you your vacation investment and additional expenses. Travel Guard Insurance provides you with protection during your entire vacation experience. You’ve invested time and money in your vacation. Unexpected events can risk all of that. If you can’t go on your trip for a covered reason, you will be reimbursed for your prepaid expenses. It offers excellent value and combines insurance coverages with 24-Hour Emergency Assistance Services.

Coverage Details
Trip Cancellation & Interruption:
Up to Insured Trip Cost
(max. $100,000)

Covers trip investment for cancellation or interruption of trip for reasons including:

  • Sickness, Injury, or death of an Insured, Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion, or Business Partner
  •  Inclement Weather
  • The Insured's principal residence being made uninhabitable by hurricane, fire, flood, or similar Natural Disaster, vandalism, or burglary
  • Strike
  • Military Duty
  • Employer Terminations
  • Layoffs or Job Transfers
  • Required to serve jury duty, hijacked, or quarantined
  • The Insured's Destination being made uninhabitable by hurricane, fire, flood, or similar Natural Disaster, vandalism, or burglary
  • Being involved in an automobile accident while en route to departure
  • A Terrorist Incident in a city listed on the Insured's itinerary within 30 days of the Insured's scheduled arrival
  • A named hurricane causing cancellation of travel to the Insured's Destination that is inaccessible or uninhabitable
  • The primary or secondary school where the Insured or Traveling Companion is a student must extend its operation session beyond its regular schedule
  • Mechanical/equipment failure of a Common Carrier and causes complete cessation of travel for at least 48 consecutive hours
  • A theft of passports or visas specifically required for the Insured's Trip.
$600 Travel Delay

Reimbursement for additional expenses (i.e. hotel) incurred when you are delayed for 12 hours or more due to (a) Common Carrier delay; or (b) lost or stolen passport, travel documents, or money; or (c) quarantine; or (d) Natural Disaster; or (e) Injury or Sickness of the Insured or Traveling Companion.

$200 Baggage Delay Reimbursement for purchasing essential items (i.e., toiletries) when bags are delayed more than 24 hours. If the Baggage is delayed after the Insured has reached his or her Destination and the Common Carrier makes a charge for delivery, the Company will reimburse the reasonable cost to deliver the Insured’s Baggage to his/her Return Destination or residence, up to $25.
